Building the Carr’s biscuit armature

Did I mention the biscuit? The two Cracker Packers, from past and present, are standing atop my favourite – a Carr’s Table Water Biscuit. At 90cm wide, it’s a little larger than the ones I tuck into. Armature-wise, it provides a few challenges. I decide that using shaped ply-wood is the best solution – more varnishing ensues. To ensure that the clay sticks to the armature, and particularly to the underside, I need to staple aluminium mesh to the plywood. I draft in my artist sister Sandra and my dear old dad to help out, who come up with some nifty ideas.
